"Easy as 1…2…3…"
If you’re anything like me, you’re counting down the days until Cinco de Mayo – the perfect excuse to indulge in way too many margaritas with endless chips and salsa. I usually pick up a jar of salsa at the grocery store, but I recently tried making homemade salsa and it turned out amazing.
Below I will walk you through the 3 simple steps on how to make the perfect salsa for your upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration. The ingredients are simple, but make sure you have all of them before you begin:
- Freshly ripened tomatoes
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 sweet onion
- 2 limes
- Cumin, salt, black pepper & sugar.
-First, chop up about 2 cups of freshly ripened tomatoes, 1/3 cup yellow pepper, and 2/3 cup sweet onion. Set aside in small bowl.
-Second, add 1tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice, 1/3 tsp ground cumin, 1/3 tsp salt, 1/3 tsp black pepper, and 1/3 tsp sugar to chopped vegetables.
-Third, combine all ingredients until mixed well and serve :)
*Personally, I recommend refrigerating overnight to allow the flavors to set.
